RangMudra: a craft studio's shop, workshops and story, in one website

RangMudra hand-prints cloth in Bengaluru with carved wooden blocks and plant dyes, and teaches the craft to anyone who wants to try. The work is slow and every piece is one of a kind, and selling it online takes more than an Instagram page. We designed and built a website that reads like a textile magazine and works like a proper shop: browse, pay, ship anywhere in India, and book a workshop, with the studio running all of it from its own admin panel.

About the client

RangMudra logo, a lotus under the studio's name

RangMudra

RangMudra, "colour of the hand", is a studio on Kanakapura Road in Bengaluru reviving hand block printing and eco printing. Artisans print natural cotton, linen and silk with carved wooden blocks and dyes made from plants and minerals, so no two pieces come out the same. The range runs from sarees and dupattas to blazers, home décor and accessories.

Teaching is half the business. The studio has run more than a hundred workshops, from children's sessions and block-print parties to corporate team days, and has served over five hundred patrons. Both sides needed a home online that felt as handmade as the work itself.

The Challenge

What was holding them back

A handmade studio runs on stories and photographs, and on a lot of messages. Without a shop of its own, anyone who found the studio on Instagram had to ask about prices, sizes, shipping and workshop dates one conversation at a time. There was nowhere to simply browse, pay and be done, and nowhere that showed the craft at the scale it deserves.

  • Without a shop, every sale and workshop booking had to be handled by hand, one message at a time
  • One-of-a-kind pieces needed rich photos and the story of how they were made, not a template product grid
  • Shipping handmade goods across India meant quoting delivery for any PIN code, accurately
  • Orders needed proper GST invoices, discount codes and the odd payment link for custom requests
  • The team had to update products, workshops, photos and videos themselves, often straight from a phone

Our Solution

How we solved it

We built RangMudra from the studio's own Figma designs into an editorial website with a full shop and workshop engine underneath. Visitors get the story and the craft; the studio gets orders, payments and bookings that arrive ready to fulfil.

  • An editorial design in cream and chocolate, with serif headlines and large photography, that reads like a textile magazine
  • A shop filtered by craft and category, with product pages that show the process behind each piece
  • Email one-time-code sign-in, cart, wishlist, saved addresses and Razorpay checkout
  • Delivery quoted live for any Indian PIN code using India Post Speed Post rates, and GST invoices generated as PDFs
  • Workshops in three formats (experience, corporate and curated), each with its own page and a booking enquiry
  • An admin panel for products, workshops, gallery, journal, FAQs, testimonials, orders, discounts and payment links

Our Process

How we delivered it

  1. 01

    Design system first

We turned the studio's Figma library into a strict set of colours, type and spacing, so every page from the homepage to checkout feels like the same brand.

  2. 02

    Story and structure

We mapped the site around how people actually arrive: curious about the craft, then the pieces, then the workshops. The shop, workshops, gallery and journal each have a clear home.

  3. 03

    Shop and checkout

We built the cart, sign-in and Razorpay checkout, then wired in PIN code delivery quotes, discount codes and GST invoices so an order needs no follow-up messages.

  4. 04

    Admin the team can run

Everything on the site is editable from an admin panel. Photos and videos upload straight to cloud storage, and phone videos are compressed to web size automatically.

  5. 05

    Protect and be found

reCAPTCHA and rate limits keep spam out of the enquiry forms. Structured data and sitemaps for products, workshops and the gallery help the studio show up in search.

  6. 06

    Launch and care

We shipped at rangmudra.com and stay on to add products, workshops and features as the studio grows.

The Results

What the studio walked away with

One place that tells RangMudra's story and does the selling: customers browse, pay and get an invoice without a single message, and workshop bookings come in with the details already filled in.

FAQ

Common questions

Can you build an online shop for handmade or one-of-a-kind products?

Yes. RangMudra sells pieces where no two are alike, so each product page carries its own photos and the story of how it was made. We build the shop around your products rather than squeezing them into a template, with checkout, shipping and invoices handled.

Do you handle Indian payments, shipping and GST invoices?

Yes. RangMudra takes payments through Razorpay, quotes India Post delivery for any PIN code at checkout, and generates a GST invoice for every paid order. We can set up the same for your business, or connect a courier you already use.

Can customers book workshops or classes on the same site?

Yes. RangMudra runs experience, corporate and curated workshops, each with its own page and booking enquiry, alongside the shop. The same approach works for classes, studio sessions and events.
